What Is Long COVID?

Understanding Long COVID

Long COVID describes symptoms that continue, return, or appear for the first time weeks or months after a COVID infection. Some people also develop lingering symptoms after a reaction to a COVID shot.

Your immune system was designed with checks and balances. When it meets a threat, it mounts a rapid response and then returns to surveillance mode. In Long COVID, that return may not happen. The immune system can stay in attack mode, driving inflammation, clotting problems, and changes in how the brain and nervous system work.

Long COVID can affect people who were very sick and people whose first infection seemed mild. Some factors can make a person more susceptible, including low vitamin D, excess body fat, hidden infections, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and other sources of inflammation.

Why Symptoms Linger

Root Causes We Look For

Long COVID is rarely about one thing. We look for the factors that may be keeping your body stuck.

01
Immune Overreaction An immune system that cannot shut down or calm down attack mode after the threat has passed.
02
Excessive Inflammation Ongoing inflammation that affects energy, breathing, pain, and brain function.
03
Circulation and Clotting Problems Changes in blood flow and clotting that may reduce oxygen delivery to tissues.
04
Nervous System Dysregulation A nervous system stuck in survival mode, which can drive a racing heart, poor sleep, and anxiety.
05
Hidden Infections Other infections that the body was keeping in check before COVID upset the balance.
06
Susceptibility Factors Low vitamin D, high blood sugar, excess body fat, and other sources of inflammation.
Our Approach

How We Help

We use a number of tools to help calm an overactive immune response, reduce inappropriate inflammation, increase energy, and restore clearer brain function as quickly as possible.

Your plan begins with bioenergetic testing, lab work, and an in-depth consultation to understand what is driving your symptoms. Then we build a personalized recovery protocol around the underlying causes.

  • Nervous System Reset to help your body shift out of survival mode
  • IV therapy to restore nutrients and support energy and immune function
  • PEMF therapy to support circulation and cellular energy
  • Microcurrent neurofeedback for brain fog, anxiety, and poor sleep
  • Nutrition, targeted supplements, and support for vitamin D and other key nutrients
